Redesigning and extending a complex knowledge-sharing ecosystem for long-term growth
National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) engaged us to redesign and extend a digital platform we had originally developed, evolving the website into a significantly more advanced resource and partner management ecosystem.
Now operating as part of the Monash University Accident Research Centre, the platform continues to support Australian organisations in developing stronger road safety practices through education, collaboration and data-driven industry tools.
The platform was rebuilt into a WordPress ecosystem designed to support both a central resource hub and five connected partner websites.
Each partner site operates with its own branding, layout and content structure, while sharing a common resource library and technical foundation.
This was achieve by developing a custom WordPress theme and structure that enables consistent knowledge sharing across the site, while still allowing each partner to maintain editorial and visual independence.
The core platform supports a growing library of 3,000+ resources, insights and industry materials. To ensure fast delivery all resource assets and media are managed through AWS, stored in an S3 bucket using Cloudfront as a CDN. Given the scale of the platform and its growing resource base, the system was designed for long-term scalability and reliability.
A key focus was improving discoverability across this expanding content base through a redesigned UX and advanced filtering system, making it easier for users to locate relevant information across categories, topics and partner contributions.
A dedicated partner portal allows organisations to manage their profiles, update branding and access saved resources within a centralised system.
Partners can also contribute and manage content within their own environments, while still remaining connected to the wider NRSPP knowledge ecosystem.
The platform includes custom-built assessment tools that allow users to submit operational and safety data, which is processed into structured reporting outputs.
Systems such as the Partner Business Measures Tool and Grey Fleet Safety Management Tool generate dynamic PDF reports containing scored assessments, benchmarking insights and visualised performance data.
Submitted data is processed through a custom reporting workflow, with chart visualisations generated and embedded into downloadable reports. All submissions are stored at an organisational level, allowing partners to track historical performance and compare improvements over time.
Beyond the redevelopment, we continue to work closely with the National Road Safety Partnership Program team, providing ongoing platform support, feature development and technical consultancy.
This includes UX improvements, infrastructure optimisation and continued expansion of partner functionality as the ecosystem evolves.
The result is a scalable multi-site WordPress ecosystem that combines large-scale knowledge management, partner collaboration tools and advanced reporting functionality within a unified digital platform.
